Energy Data Science

Data analytics for solar energy, renewable resources, and energy monitoring — from irradiance modeling to interactive energy dashboards.

The transition to renewable energy demands better data tools — for resource assessment, system performance monitoring, and grid planning. Harospec Data applies data science to energy problems: modeling solar potential, analyzing meteorological data, and building interactive tools that communicate energy insights to diverse audiences.

We have hands-on experience with pvlib (the leading Python library for solar irradiance modeling) and the Open-Meteo API for high-resolution weather data. Our work spans California, the Lake Tahoe region, and broader western U.S. solar resource zones.

What We Deliver

  • Solar irradiance modeling and PV system performance analysis using pvlib
  • Weather data pipelines via Open-Meteo, NSRDB, and other meteorological APIs
  • Energy monitoring dashboards built with R Shiny or Next.js
  • Time-series analysis of energy production and consumption
  • Automated data collection pipelines for energy sensor networks
  • Renewable energy resource assessment reports
  • Integration of climate and energy data for site selection analysis
  • Air quality and atmospheric condition monitoring and visualization
